Preview: Motion Segmentation of RGB-D Videos via Trajectory Clustering

Humans are quite good at detecting motion. How about machines? Can computers automatically segment objects in videos? I dedicated my Master thesis to a particular variant of this question. Here are a few videos as a preview.

Here are two videos showing model trucks driving around. The goal of the thesis project is to find these moving objects and segment them from the background.

The videos have been recorded with a RGB-D camera.

A more detailed project description can be found on this website of the KTH Smart Mobility Lab, which provided me with videos of moving model trucks. The link to my thesis report will be added in the near future. The thesis project has been done in cooperation with Volumental AB, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and Technische Universität München.
